An extraordinary kids news show that inspires youth to

take an active interest in current events.

What’z Up! NEWS is a TV news show created by kids. It asks, “What would The News be like if youth had the freedom to write it?” Would it be serious, stuffy and sad?  No way!

What’z Up! NEWS was created by Laura Newman and is a partnership with the Lower Eastside Girl’s Club of New York, Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) and several professional teachers, filmmakers and journalists. Under the auspices of these organizations and individuals, 16 kids will be mentored during the creation of a 15-minute program on current events.  The result will be quality TV programming with an authentic kid perspective.
